Stress & Strain
Modern research has shown that more than 80% of the diseases have their roots in stress. Stress blocks the free flow of energy in the body and the weakest muscle/organ/system gets adversely affected by it. This blockage manifests itself in form of disease when it goes beyond the capacity of body to maintain homeostasis.
What is Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese word where“Rei” means universal and “ki” means life force energy. Therefore together they translate as "Universal Life Energy". Reiki was discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan in the early part of 19th century and came to be known as “Usui Shiki Ryoho” which means Usui’s Natural Healing System. This modality deals with the flow of energy in the body.
How Reiki works
Reiki is considered a smart energy because it has a mind of its own. The practitioner has to just put his/her hands gently on the receiver and have an intention. The Reiki energy starts flowing in the direction it is intended to be. The practitioner is originally attuned to this healing energy by an accomplished master and then trains to enhance the healing capabilities.
This technique removes the energy blocks and allows all the bodily functions to perform at their fullest capacity thereby allowing body to improve overall health and well-being. Persons of any age including infants can be treated with the help of Reiki.
Conditions Reiki can help with
Since Reiki works through the flow of energy, it can help virtually any conditions including acute or chronic diseases and pain. These are some of the most frequently treated diseases:
What to expect
A typical Reiki session can last from 30 to 60 minutes. The receiver remains fully clothed as he/she relaxes on the treatment table.
The practitioner starts by gently putting his hands on six energy centers starting from the forehead in a short session. In a full session, 24 different spots in the body are treated to improve the over all flow of energy.
The practitioner is able to locate the blockages simply by the intensity of the flow of energy in his/her hands. Whenever the flow becomes strong it indicates weakness of that particular tissue.
Normalization of that tissue can be achieved instantly or after a few sessions by putting hands there for 3 to 5 minutes.
Reiki and other therapies
Though Reiki can be used as a standalone modality, it can also be mixed very easily with other techniques such as massage or craniosacral therapy for the best results.
Client's informed consent is required before receiving Reiki energy.
